Renovating and repairing furniture according to traditional methods and restoring them to their original state and purpose is Djamil Zenasni’s passion. To renovate in a correct manner with quality in mind is his mainspring. Since 2003 when the Zenasni-Savekoul family moved back to Belgium, this passion widened to the renovation of Bruges’ magnificent Master Houses.
His love for unique historical buildings led to among other things the running of a couple of apartments as guest houses in the centre of Bruges. The holiday flats “Ridderspoor” are a fine example of his workmanship. Djamil and his wife Dominique did all of the renovations themselves. Many of the 19th century style elements where kept intact such as the floor tiles, the parquet floors , the marble fireplaces, the oak staircase and the wooden roof frame of the loft. The house has kept its authenticity throughout the renovations. The combination with the modern elements create a stylish coziness.
In the same street, the Riddersstraat, Djamil and his wife, completed a new project. The restoration of a monumental, listed, classic Master House. The result is a combination of a beautiful family home with a unique bed and breakfast. Both houses are separated by a huge and impressive hallway so privacy is not an issue.
